Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you use Marketur. Basic browsing may generate standard server and analytics data such as IP address, browser information, pages visited and referring pages. Creating an account may require a username, email address, password and profile information you choose to provide.

When you use community features, we may store posts, comments, reactions, group activity and related account preferences. When you purchase a membership or service, payment information is handled by our payment providers. Marketur does not intentionally store full payment card details on its own servers.

AI and connected tools

Marketur develops tools that can connect supported AI assistants and other services to WordPress. When you choose to use a connected tool, information necessary to perform the requested action may be transmitted to the relevant provider. The exact data involved depends on the tool, permissions you grant and the action you request. You are responsible for reviewing the privacy terms of third-party AI and service providers you connect.

Business reports, checks and AI assistants

Marketur’s tools, including the Opportunity Finder, the Online Health Report and the free ChatGPT check, look at publicly available information about businesses, such as their websites, public listings, reviews and search results, and ask AI services questions about them.

Marketur keeps anonymous measurements from these reports and checks: the type of business, its town and state, whether AI tools and search results mentioned it, whether it appeared in map results, where its website ranked, its report score, its review count and rating, and how often its kind of business is searched for locally. These records do not include the business’s name, its website address or anyone’s personal information. We use them to improve Marketur’s tools and may publish aggregated findings, for example the share of a kind of business that AI tools did not mention. Published findings describe what we measured, not the reasons for it.

When a visitor uses a chat assistant that Marketur runs on a business’s website, the conversation and any contact details the visitor chooses to leave are stored by Marketur and sent to that business so it can reply. The business is responsible for how it uses the details it receives.

Text messages (SMS)

If you give Marketur your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, for example by ticking the SMS consent box on one of our forms or by texting us first, we use that number to send messages about your enquiry, demos and appointments, and your account or services. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts, and HELP for help.

Cookies and local storage

Marketur may use cookies and browser storage for normal WordPress functions, authentication, preferences, analytics and security. Third-party services used for analytics, payments, email or other site functions may also set cookies under their own policies.

Sharing information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers when necessary to host the site, process payments, deliver email, provide analytics, prevent abuse or deliver a feature you requested. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect Marketur, its users or others.

Data retention

We retain account and service data for as long as reasonably necessary to operate Marketur, provide services, meet legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. Some information may be anonymized rather than deleted.

Your choices and rights

You may update certain account information through your account area. You may also contact us to request access, correction or deletion of personal information where applicable. Depending on where you live, additional privacy rights may apply.

Children

Marketur is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no website, software or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
